Our Story…
For almost four decades, Closeburn Country Garden has been a greenery go-to for Samford Valley locals.
Established in 1986, our nursery has become known for its quality range of hardy plants (mainly grown on-site), great customer service, reliable advice & community feel.
We aim to stock a broad variety of species to cater for as many needs as possible. We propagate & grow most of the native species (along with many of the exotics) on site which allows them to develop a hardy nature & climatise to the local conditions while filtering out species that are less likely to survive in the sub-tropical climate we live in. Our plants are all grown outdoors & sun-hardened to ensure they thrive when incorporated into your own garden & home.
2023- A New Season for Closeburn…
In 2023, local charity Nexus Care purchased Closeburn Country Garden from its founding owner Maurie to function as a social enterprise. Since then, the nursery has operated to support the work of this innovative north Brisbane-based charity assisting individuals & households experiencing hardship.
Using people-focused and evidence-based services, Nexus Care has empowered thousands of individuals and families since 2011. The charity offers high-quality programs delivered with dignity, and cares about nutritious food relief, breaking the poverty cycle, and empowerment through community and sustainable support programs.
Operating from locations in Everton Park and Sandgate, Nexus Care’s range of programs includes Fresh Food Relief, Emergency Financial Relief, Career Coaching and Therapeutic Art Classes.
Nexus Care, supported by Closeburn Country Garden and the local community, are passionate about helping people find a fresh start and experience new growth!
